Poikiloderma is a chronic skin condition that appears on areas of the skin often affected by sun damage. It usually presents as redness, thin (atrophied) skin or hyperpigmentation, commonly around the neck and décolletage areas.
It can be treated with minimal discomfort, usually across a few treatments for best results.
Age spots are brown or black flat spots of varying sizes that commonly occur on the areas of your body most exposed to sun. They tend to appear later in life but can affect young people as well, particularly if they’ve had a lot of sun exposure.
Age spots are harmless. However, can be very similar in appearance to melanoma – something our Drs are very skilled in picking up. Visually determining whether a spot is benign can be difficult with the naked eye and will be reviewed if necessary.
If our Doctor has any concerns, you may require a biopsy prior to any removal.
